Education ImprovementLe dedicates a big part of the budget to purchase equipment to improve the quality of education in the village.
More than 130 lbs of fiber thread was purchased in order to help Agent Orange victims sew and weave cloths. These activities enhance the children's mechanical skills. Four new televisions were equipped in different classrooms for entertainment, and more importantly, educational purposes. Hanoi is a city with high temperature and humidity level; summer days are almost unbearable. Several children had to stay home due to the lack of air conditioning in the classrooms. Therefore, it was deemed necessary for the project to donate four new air conditioners to the village so that the children can come to class and get the education they need. |
Love and Support18 volunteers were recruited and they all went through an extensive training program, which was designed to help them get familiar with the project and ensure that each volunteer is capable of following protocols in different situations.
The project team went to the village three days a week to take children on field trips and to host games/activities. Read more about the field trips and activities by exploring our Gallery tab! The main goal was to show the victims love and support and to show them that there are still people who care about their happiness and well-being. By the end of the project, this goal has been achieved! According to the evaluations from the children, the village staff, and the volunteers, children victims of Thanh Xuan Peace Village benefited from the project and their summer was more fun and meaningful thanks to the hard work and dedication of the project team. "The excitement in their faces and the affectionate way they called my name the moment I stepped inside the village were the reasons I. the opposite of a morning person, got out of bed at 6AM."
